IONA's commitment to Open Source software is part of its 15-year heritage of solving the most complex integration problems by applying open, standards-based solutions. IONA wanted to be a leader in the Java distributed SOA arena, so it donated a Java Web services framework to the open source community. IONA has a family of open source products named FUSE. IONA architects and developers participate in and provide leadership to open source projects including the SOA Tools Platform (STP) project at the Eclipse Founda¬tion, and the Active MQ, Service-Mix and CXF projects at the Apache Software Foundation. In addition, IONA tests and validates spe¬ci¬fic re¬leases of these technologies for release to enterprise customers under an open source Subscription Support Service. IONA creates opportunities for enterprises to adopt open source software for mission-critical enterprise integration with a com¬pre¬hensive set of services, including support, training, custom develop¬ment and consulting. Open Source is a powerful force which is driving collaborative innovations in infrastructure and middleware technology and IONA is at the core of this movement and innovation.
IONA offers: A solution that can be based on a powerful set of Open Source/Open Standard products, but complemented with Closed Source/Open Standard plug-in technology, all under a common, simplified architecture and Subscription Support pricing model.
